navigates long-term scalability with Odoo
Beurtvaartadres, an independent knowledge partner, has been simplifying and connecting the logistics chain since 1927. The company may be nearing its centennial, but it continues to lead the way. In 2014, Beurtvaartadres became an early adopter of Odoo. Since then, in collaboration with 360 ERP, it has made significant strides in automating processes ranging from sales and procurement to inventory management and platform integration.
Highlights
Comprehensive Odoo implementation
360 ERP established an elaborate Odoo system that supports all of Beurtvaartadres’s business processes, including sales, purchasing, inventory, subscription management, project management, and six integrated websites.
EDI integration for automation
By automating the communication with manufacturers and 3PL partners, the company achieved a fully automated supply chain.
Streamlined inventory and subscription management
The ERP system ensures a seamless management of inventory, shipping, and subscriptions across multiple locations and channels.
Platform integration
Advanced integrations with tools like Power BI enable sophisticated data analysis, ensuring a smooth data transfer and operational insights.
Document traceability with UDN
A system to track Unique Document Numbers (UDNs) enhances document traceability, ensuring transparency and compliance for items like freight documents and certificates.
Integrated website and webshop
The integration of the webshop into the same system as the website, created a unified data source, enhancing efficiency and user experience.
Enhanced customer satisfaction
Detailed monitoring of customer satisfaction provides valuable insights for continuous improvement.
API integration with key suppliers
Digitised processes, from order to invoicing, with the company’s two largest suppliers have significantly boosted efficiency by minimising manual intervention.
Future-proofing with regular updates
Every two years, Beurtvaartadres upgrades to the latest Odoo version, ensuring access to cutting-edge technology without unforeseen costs, thanks to a fixed budget for updates.
Staying on course
Beurtvaartadres exemplifies how an ERP system can drive and sustain organisational growth. Business analyst Kees Baardman recalls leveraging OpenERP (the predecessor to Odoo) when he joined a decade ago. ‘At the time, we worked with a team that focused on custom solutions. While they were keen to meet our requests, migrating all that custom code became a headache. It was holding us back.’
As a relatively small team serving 30,000 customers annually with various services, efficiency is key. ‘Beurtvaartadres was already ahead in automation, but Odoo elevated us further. The implementation and optimisation of Odoo enabled a quick evolution, reducing our dependence on custom solutions and simplifying migrations,’ Kees explains.
Learning from 360 ERP
Over the years, 360 ERP has ‘taught’ Kees the value of standardisation. ‘Whenever a solution doesn’t fit the standard, I think carefully about whether we truly need it. Deviating from the standard increases migration complexity and requires a larger maintenance budget. We aim for excellence, but sometimes, not every request can or should be accommodated.’
"At Beurtvaartadres, we evolved
tremendously through the implementation
and optimization of Odoo."
A strong partnership
From day one, Beurtvaartadres has been a 360 ERP client, and Kees has witnessed their partner’s growth. ‘This benefits us, as 360 ERP is future-ready, and we’re not reliant on just one or two consultants.’ He appreciates their straight-forward and transparent communication: ’They always provide honest advice and practical solutions.’
Joris Jacobs of 360 ERP adds, ‘Kees is down-to-earth and technically knowledgeable, which makes for a smooth collaboration. Many queries are resolved internally by him, which boosts efficiency.’

Full speed ahead
The collaboration between Beurtvaartadres and 360 ERP showcases the transformative potential of advanced ERP solutions. With Odoo as the core system, Beurtvaartadres has optimised processes, paving the way for future growth.
Kees emphasises the ongoing nature of improvement: ‘Optimising processes is a continuous journey, and we tackle it together with 360 ERP. We constantly analyse the landscape and explore Odoo’s potential, especially as technologies like AI become increasingly relevant.’
Looking ahead, Beurtvaartadres is preparing for its next migration and new projects. ‘Our confidence in Odoo as a future-ready platform is strong; we recently extended our license for five years,’ Kees notes. Joris is equally enthusiastic: ‘Upgrading to the latest Odoo version is always exciting. New features like e-invoicing and updated image formats will be great for Beurtvaartadres.’
Together, Beurtvaartadres and 360 ERP remain committed to innovation and optimisation, ensuring their processes are ready to tackle future challenges.
